There are only a few days until the kickoff of the annual Gathering of Juggalos, one of the most affordable and unique music festivals of the summer. For just 5 a ticket (plus a little more if you want to bring your car or RV), this summer festival provides four days of entertainment unlike any other camping summer festival around.
Like most other music festivals, there are multiple performances by artists day and night, but there are also plenty of other activities where you can meet other juggalos from around the world. So what is there to do at the Gathering of the Juggalos?
Concerts: Of course, like all other music festivals, concerts are at the heart of the Gathering of the Juggalos. But at this summer festival, they go late-night — nearly 24 hours a day.
Headlining performers include top names in rap, like Lil Jon, Ice Cube, and Busta Rhymes, and of course, Insane Clown Posse, as well as underground hard rock, like Kottonmouth Kings, CKY, and Hed(pe). This is also your chance to check out many new, up-and-coming names in those genres.
Comedy: Many music festivals now feature some comedians, but it’s long been a huge part of the Gathering of the Juggalos. They appear on the main stage as well as during special late-night performances. This year, top names at the summer festival include Harland Williams, Brian Posehn, and even Charlie Sheen — who you could say is a comedian of sorts!
Wrestling: Juggalos love wrestling, and this summer festival won’t disappoint. A dedicated wrestling ring showcases stars from Pro-wrestler, more hardcore promotions like the old ECW, and Insane Clown Posse’s own Juggalo Championship Wrestling. At what other music festivals could you catch names like Chyna and Hacksaw Jim Duggan?
Carnival and Helicopter Rides: Like a great summer festival of any type, the Gathering also offers a full carnival midway for its attending juggalos. You can also live out a dream at this summer festival by catching a ride on a helicopter, too!
Something for the Ladies: Juggalos appreciate their juggalettes, and no other music festivals feature this particular brand of female fan appreciation. Yes, the Gathering famously features contests not seen at most music festivals — wet contests and female mud wrestling!
The most comprehensive of this bunch of events is the “Ms. Jugalette contest,” a full-scale beauty contest rating participants on personality, sex appeal, and talent.
Other Events: This summer festival offers even more entertainment beyond what usual music festivals offer. Juggalos can participate in much more. Send shout-outs through the WFOff Radio live broadcasts, or meet your favorite performers at seminars and meet-and-greets. Oh yeah, there’s also a bonfire. Hogdaddy’s Hellfire is so big, it’s visible in Kentucky!
As you can see, this summer festival is simply unlike any run-of-the-mill music festival this year. And it’s not too late to go — tickets are still available! Visit the Gathering website to get yours.
