Question by Ken: Why many high schools in US, require to wear a “solid color ” for the PE class?
I see many high schools in US has a rule to wear a “solid color ” for the PE class. I understand the need of uniform for exercises but why solid color ?
Come to think of it, in general, solid color fashion seem very common in US compare to Europe and Asia where pattern and print design is much preferred.
Is there any cultural or social reasons that solid color cloth is appropriate? …such as solid color clothing is considered wholesome in Puritan?

to avoid distracting or offensive designs,
and also to prevent kids from writing tested material on their shirts.
