Why Wear A Christian T-Shirt Or Christian Cap?

You stroll down the street, go to malls, parks and even churches, you will observe adults and teenagers wearing Bible verses on their t-shirt. You will also seeing some pretty catchy catchphrases on their shirts with allusions to Bible verses. You might even see some tshirts with hateful sayings on their shirts. Why do people wear these?

It is a way to articulate who you are and what you consider to be true. This is multiplying the Gospel one t-shirt at a time. They come in t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, beanies, and baseball caps. You will find them in regular sizes to plus-sizes. Women wear them as well as little children. The color assortment is from to brilliant reds to deep black. Even the colors symbolize something about that person and their faith.

What initiated as a way for a few folks to communicate their faith gently has grown into a multi-million dollar a year industry. The need to have more distinctive designs has risen and thus an industry is born. Graphic artist are creating new designs daily. They are either being hot pressed onto the shirts or embroidered.

Cowboy and even Bikers had gotten into wearing Christian T-Shirts. I am not a cowboy but have seen some pretty cool Christian Cowboy tees. The bikers are not to be out done. Their Christian Motorcycle tees are pretty cool and their slogans are pretty unabashed. I guess they are ready to back up what they say. Hopefully with a Christian spirit.

It seems man has always tried to put across himself with the wearing of clothes. Wearing tshirts is part of the world culture. You can visit remote parts of the world and find people wearing tshirts. Tshirts are just relaxed, easy to wear and care for. They are truly a well-designed shirt. It is only natural that Christians would want to express themselves with Christian T-Shirts and Caps that spread the Gospel. I vote for them but wished some of my brothers and sisters would opt out of the intolerable saying. That is another subject for another time.

The styles today comprise of sweatshirts with hoods. They are also identified as hoodies. There are Christian sweatshirts for this style. The young folks really seem to like these. Obviously they come in black which is their favorite color of the day. It seems awful hot to see someone walking around in a dark sweatshirt with a hood over their head. I guess that is why the young folks wear them and not the older mature crowd.

Regrettably, our nation is becoming obese and therefore cloth sizes have enlarged. You can find Christian T-Shirts and Sweatshirts in plus sizes for men and women. You will usually have to pay a few dollars more for the plus size. I guess it has to do with using more material. A word of concern, just because it comes in 2XL doesn’t mean it really is big. I haven’t figured out how the makers decide what a 2XL is from a 3XL. Also, taken into consideration they may or in all probability will shrink after you wash them the first time. You don’t want to pay out $25 for a T-Shirt to clean it and now can’t wear it because it is too undersized.

Christian caps and beanies are another way that young people and adults demonstrate their faith. The beanies have recently become very popular. You also will see Christian motorcyclist wearing their beanies. I like the beanies but they just don’t look good on me. I guess you have to have the right profile of head to be styling.

Christian jewelry has been around for a long time. It is still accepted today. The cross seems to be the most popular to wear. You even see none Christians wearing the cross. I can’t help but think of being drawn near the cross.

So the next time you decide to put on a t-shirt or a beanie, think about giving out your faith. How many times have you said, I just have a hard time informing a stranger about my faith. The Christian TShirt or Cap can help open the door for you. Just don’t start off with one of those tshirts that is so repugnant or you have to be a theologian to understand what it is being said.

T-shirts are Everywhere Saying Everything

I am sitting in the food court of a very busy shopping mall on a Saturday with a pad of paper. What am I doing? Counting how many people are wearing Retro T-Shirts, what kind of t-shirt they’re wearing, and about how old they are. This is my 4th Saturday conducting this survey at 4 different malls.

Before I began doing this “t-shirt survey” at the malls here in Dallas, I was expecting about 30-35% of the people would be wearing a t-shirt. Was I ever wrong. I had no idea just how popular t-shirts actually are.

First, who is wearing t-shirts? I counted a total of about 4,000 people over 4 weeks in this survey. In total, about 60-65% were wearing t-shirts – twice my expectations! There was a variance in the age groups. For those under 25-years-old, about 80-85% wore t-shirts. For those 25 to 40 years old, about 60% wore t-shirts. And, for those over 40, about 35% wore t-shirts.

While I expected the younger crowd to be wearing tshirts, what I was not expecting were those ages 35 – 50 wearing them. These are mostly parents, business people, and maybe a couple grandparents. Most of their tshirts were sports or college tshirts, or a brand name like Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, or Polo – nothing crude of obnoxious.

Second, what kind of Retro T-Shirt were they wearing? I rarely saw the same t-shirt twice. There were funny t-shirts, animal t-shirts, Christian t-shirts, patriotic t-shirts, and all kinds of novelty t-shirts. And, I wasn’t surprised to see a few crude or offensive ones in the mix either.

Younger kids, those between 5 and 12-years-old, wore a lot of Cool T-Shirts. That age bracket was closer to 90%. Most of them had some kind of “cute” picture or slogan (like a Disney tshirt), or something to do with sports. Most teenagers and college students wore tshirts that seem to match up closely with their identity.

More than anything, it became apparent that wearing a tshirt is a way to express oneself. Whether supporting a sports team, a university, or country, people wear tshirts to express themselves and make a statement. But, some people wear them just because it looks good, it’s trendy, and they’re comfortable. The t-shirt industry is a huge business. While I don’t have the exact statistics, it made up 60% of the tops worn at the shopping malls around Dallas, TX over the last 4 weeks.

After arriving back home, what did I do? I went to my dresser, opened the drawer, and counted about 25 t-shirts of my own. I put on my alma mater tshirt and sat down to watch the baseball playoffs.

Personalised Tshirts And Baseball Caps

Sometimes for a special birthday, an anniversary, or an otherwise important occasion, we want to give something a bit more than the basic ‘few DVDs and a CD’. While we want to stick to the list and give the person what they want, there’s something very impersonal about simply buying a film they’ve asked for – it lacks effort and it lacks that extra individual touch. A great way to spice up a gift then is to personalise it and make it more unique than the run of the mill (literally).

For example, why not give someone a unique personalised pint glass if they enjoy their beer? It’s easy to make and fairly cheap and there are loads of places you can get glass engraved (including online). Put their name on it, a nice message, or a nickname (or both of your names) and they have a keepsake that will also amuse guests. Engraving can go on all sorts of other things too – most obviously jewellery – and a ring with your name on it can be all the more meaningful. In today’s modern world though you also get engraved watches, iPods and even phones. Similarly the internet gives you a lot more opportunity to personalise those items – using various websites you can use your own images to make phone covers, or using 3D printing sights you can even make your own designs for jewellery and ornaments to give someone something they can wear that’s 100% individual (or why not make jewellery the old fashioned way with some beads and a thread?).

Another great option is personalised t-shirts or baseball caps. This it a less expensive gift that the ring or the engraved iPod and makes a great amusing present for a friend. This can then either be a joke – for example you can buy your loved one a t-shirt with their nickname on (or their pet name) or a photograph of yourself (and your back on the back if you want to go all out) which will be amusing while showing effort; or a serious present – for example you could put an image on it that you know they like. This could be a painting they really liked, a photograph, or something clever you thought of yourself. Alternatively you could combine an image they like – from a film or famous painting – and then incorporate the receiver into the image by writing their name or photo-shopping their face into the image. Another idea is to make the image yourself – to paint or draw an image yourself that you think they’d like to wear on their t-shirt (only do it if you’re genuinely a good artist though as it can be embarrassing otherwise). This way you are showing that you put an awful lot of effort into the present and obviously spent a long time on it.

Other personalised gift ideas could be a wine bottle with a personalised label, a calendar of pictures from that person’s life, a mug with their name on it… the list is endless. Whatever you buy, by looking into personalising it you know it’ll make them smile and show that little bit extra thought. And as an added bonus you know they won’t mix it up with anyone else’s…

At conventions or other events promotional tshirts identify your staff easily for potential clients. Another very popular clothing item for staff identification are baseball caps.
